Hybrid order capture for a furniture manufactory

The path from the design consultation at the customer's home to the digital ticket for CNC woodworking was meant to become more seamless. But the master cabinetmakers preferred to sketch dimensions by hand on grid paper and felt tablets constrained their creative process.

We developed a hybrid capture web app with an integrated digitization tool: sales staff uploaded high-resolution photos of the hand sketches and placed precise digital dimensions directly on the image — from which matching manufacturing tickets could be generated instantly.

The manufactory's traditional, relationship-building design process was fully preserved.

Transcription errors between the showroom and production are practically a thing of the past, because the dimensions are no longer copied out by hand.
